My name is Alvina, and I have been a hairstylist for over 20 years. I opened Gem A Barbershop for Kids in 2024. I originally opened a kids' barbershop to help me through one of the toughest times in my life. Children gave me so much joy through the healing journey of losing a loved one. Little did I know that there was a huge need for children to feel safe and loved during a haircut. Also, I am here to provide hope for families. A child's hair journey can be a very stressful and traumatic experience for families. I have created a loving and peaceful environment for your little ones and to help you with their hair journey. I serve families in a one-on-one private setting. I specialize in: * Baby's first haircut * Children with sensory issues * Nervous Nellies and wiggly toddlers * Children with disabilities * Children who struggle with fear and anxiety * Children who struggle with any type of trauma and fear doctors, nurses, and the dentist. Age range: 1-11 years old (baby to 5th grade)
